Hourly Range: $11.00 – $15.00
Part-Time up to 32 Hours per week + APERS Retirement
Either work Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Summary
Perform all aspects of the Recycling Assistant in full compliance with the District’s operating procedure manual, the District’s Personnel Manual and other established District policies or procedures. Responsible for the collection of various materials of recyclables, such as electronics, paper, cardboard, plastic and tires at the Recycle Saline Convenience Center. Responsible for the completion of tasks related to daily operations of the Recycle Saline Recycling program and Tire program including unloading, counting, sorting, loading and accurately documenting number and placement of tires. Qualifications
- Must possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) or minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.
- Clean driving record and possession of Arkansas Driver’s License.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Consistent attendance and punctuality. Workdays include Tuesday and Thursday and one flex day from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Normal operating business hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, and reporting all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Director

- Assisting other co-workers on special projects as required
- Answer simple questions from program participants regarding other solid waste management topics or direct them to other staff or agencies for answers.
- Responsible for collection and palletizing of recyclable materials received at the recycle center. Receive material as it is unloaded from citizens vehicle.
- Sort all items by product type, onto pallets to construct an appropriate shipping area according to District policy.
- Assists and instructs customers on proper stacking techniques at tire drop-off, collects payment from participants as required and complete tire manifests to dealers and the general public.
- Assists the Recycling Program Manager with maintaining the recycling facility and grounds in a neat and safe condition including daily removal of trash and debris from floors and equipment; prompt removal of litter or blown materials from facility and neighboring grounds, & prompt placement of bulky or non-recyclable waste in dumpster.
- While performing these duties the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear.
- Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds regularly, and 50 to 100 pounds on occasion.
- Must complete 10-hour OSHA Training within 3 months of hire.
